Today we have a coastal themed trip and a visit to the ever popular and award-winning Scarborough. Known as a town of many 'firsts' it can be said that Scarborough became one of the first true seaside resorts back in 1600, this town also became the venue for two of the world's first purpose built hotels, The Grand and The Crown.
This seaside town is probably most famed for its beaches both historically and in the modern day. With two bays, each with their own character, as well as their own beaches means Scarborough has a wealth of opportunity to enjoy the day as a family eating candy floss and enjoying donkey rides. The town also offers a diverse range of attractions, suitable for all ages. Why not visit Scarborough Castle, a 12th Century Roman Ruin which dominates the resort headland or learn about the Dinosaur Coast at the Rotunda Museum where geology comes to life? Discover the secrets of the underwater world at the Sea Life Centre or take a trip on one of the county's oldest miniature seaside railways. Whatever your preference, Scarborough has something to suit all ages and budgets.
